The Payroll Specialist reports to the HR Operations Manager and may be assigned to different projects as business needs dictate. The position is located at our Duncan, SC corporate office

The Payroll Specialist will be responsible for processing multi-state web based payrolls in ADP Enterprise; processing cycle includes semi-monthly, bi-weekly and weekly payrolls.In addition they will be responsible for the data entry of garnishments, direct deposits, payment requests, time sheets, etc. They will exercise good judgment in the application and interpretation of company policies as they relate to payroll while maintaining compliance with SOX regulations.

Essential Job Duties

Responsible for processing of multi-state payroll using ADP Enterprise

Understanding of applicable state/local taxes and how they apply at the employee level

They will provide outstanding customer service in a timely manner to employees, management and outside agencies.

Audit payroll information each week to verify accuracy; make inquiries and corrections as necessary.

Conduct monthly, quarter and year-end reconciliations

Create and run reports as necessary.

Employee maintenance including W-4 entries, direct deposits, etc.

They will review manual check requests and ensure appropriate approvals are obtained and calculations are compliant with regulatory requirements and company policies

Enter and maintain child support and other garnishments, communicate with agencies as applicable.

They will identify challenges and opportunities, create action plans, make recommendations, drive change and communicate all updates.

Associate’s degree in Business is a plus.

Minimum of 2+ years of payroll processing in a high-volume, multi-state environment.

ADP Enterprise and Report Smith highly desired and experience processing payroll via 3rd party automation is a necessity. Payroll Certification a plus.

Ability to deal appropriately with confidential or sensitive information, and to demonstrate diplomacy, tact and a high level of professionalism
