Sr. Systems Engineer

Client in the Columbia, SC area is looking for an experienced Sr. Systems Engineer to join their growing operations team. This is a permanent position that will allow you to provide support for many technologies including VMware, Microsoft/SQL/IIS/Exchange, Unix/Linux, PHP/MySQL, firewalls and others. Looking for a Systems Engineer with extensive experience in virtualization technologies, specifically VMware. Responsibilities include building cloud platforms and enhancing capabilities, designing, deploying and managing existing technologies, and providing Level 3 and above user support.
Required Skills/Competencies Include:
- 10+ years experience in Windows and/or Linux server administration.
- 3+ years experience with VMware or other virtualization technology.
- Active Director installation and management experience.
- Advanced application installation and management including applications like SQL Server, Sharepoint, Exchange, etc.
- VCP 4+ required, VCAP desired.
- Experience using enterprise grade system tools for the following services: Backup, Monitoring, Patching, and Anti-Virus.
- Installation and hands on management of enterprise level SAN’s in highly redundant, replicated environments.
- Extensive experience building and deploying new servers, both virtual and physical and using automation tools to perform repetitive actions.
- Experience working in a 24/7 customer facing environment and as part of an on call rotation.Application Requirements
