Evaluating suicide prevention programs Accessing program needs Researching current suicide findings Training staff Briefing command Recommending solutions for improvement Submitting monthly reports Establishing program accountability
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.
Experience required: To qualify based on your work experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job. Typical examples of such work include (but are not limited to): managing a suicide prevention program; arranging and/or providing technical briefings, orientations, trai! ning, and workshops involving support programs; developing program policies and procedures; and preparing correspondence and/or reports using a variety of automated systems. These examples are typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09).
Education Substitution: Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience above in order to qualify. For this job, you may qualify if your education meets the definitions below:
You must possess a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree
OR
You must have completed 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree from an accredited college or university.
OR
Combination of Specialized Experience and Education: A combination of education and specialized experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements ! is at least 100 percent. To compute the percentage of the requirements,! divide your total months of qualifying experience by 12. Then divide your semester hours of graduate education in excess of 2 years by 18. Add the two percentages. Note: For the purpose of qualifications, 1 full year of graduate education is equivalent to 18 semester hours.

Education Requirement: To qualify for this position, you must meet a minimum education requirement in addition to the e! xperience requirement described above. The minimum requirement for this! position is:
You must possess a degree in behavioral or social science; or related disciplines appropriate to the position.
OR
You must possess a combination of education and experience that provided you with knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field.
OR
Four years of appropriate experience that demonstrates that you have acquired knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field.
