Director of Athletics Communication / Men's Basketball

Athletics Communications Department designs, writes and produces all media guides, news releases and other prin! ted materials. They report statistics and information to ACC and NCAA offices. Coordinate and respond to all media inquiries.
Essential Job Duties
- Serve as a senior member of the Athletics Communications staff, assisting the Assistant Athletic Director for Athletics Communications in providing leadership and vision to the unit.
- Serve as the primary contact for Athletics Communications efforts for the NC State menâs basketball program and other programs as assigned.
- Create and implement solutions and ideas to promote and market NC State menâs basketball and all assigned Athletics programs across all traditional and new media platforms and channels.
- Design, write and produce online media guides, news releases and other printed material for menâs basketball and other assigned programs.
- Coordinate media operations at all menâs basketball events and other events as assigned.
- Compile statistics and ma! intain records for menâs basketball and other assigned progr! ams.
- Report statistics and other relevant information to Atlantic Coast Conference and NCAA offices.
- Nominate/promote student-athletes for conference, regional and national honors.
- Assist with content/maintenance of the GoPack.com, CoachGott.com as well as photography archives
- Provide information to and develop strong relationships with local, regional and national media as well as coaches and student-athletes
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Promote the Athletics Communications vision for menâs basketball and entire athletics program.
- Perform supervisory responsibilities for student assistants and interns and other staff members as assigned.
- Adhere to all institution, conference and NCAA rules and regulations.
- Report all known NCAA violations in accordance with institutional, conference and NCAA policies and guidelines.
Perform other duties as ! assigned.
Minimum Education/Experience
Bachelorâs degree in communications, journalism or related field.
Departmental Required Skills
Minimum of three years experience in sports information/athletic media relations required.
The applicant must be familiar with InDesign and Photoshop.
Preferred Experience, Skills, Training/Education
Preference will be given to applicants with experience in a sports information office at a four-year college or university.
Prefer experience with StatCrew/ TAS /Netitor statistical software.
Experience in new media and/or branding/marketing preferred.
