The senior risk analyst will be responsible for analyzing and reporting on the risks of the UG's insured mortgage portfolio. Specific jobs responsibili! ties:
Enhance and create reports to identify loan origination and performance trends, understand UG's risk exposures, identify business opportunities and support risk management initiatives. Contribute to the monthly production of the comprehensive risk monitor report and ensure that risk tolerance controls are met.
Utilize existing and design new analytical tools using various statistical techniques to measure customer and product risk, detect those performing outside established parameters and recommend solutions.
Provide data queries, perform complex research and analysis to support risk management decision making. Participate in testing and quality evaluation of data from external sources and create reporting capabilities.
Perform geographic risk assessment, including development and production of the CBSA-level economic and real estate trends reviews.
Contribute to the release of the quarterly economic report, including compiling and analyzing macro! economic, labor and housing data and communicating insights an! d trends.
Create portfolio risk presentations for customers and management and effectively communicate portfolio issues.
Be able to manipulate large datasets using SAS, Excel, SQL and other data analysis software to achieve those tasks.
Position Requirements
Bachelor's degree required, Master’s degree preferred in a quantitative discipline such as economics, statistics, mathematics or finance. 3-5 years experience in mortgage, insurance or financial services quantitative analysis area required. Advanced SAS, MS Office (Excel) skills and demonstrated experience with large databases and datasets required. Knowledge of SQL, VBA, Oracle and other data management software is a plus. Additional skills required:
