This position entails supporting, designing, and developing web-based applications that help schools manage thei! r technology assets better. To achieve this, you need in depth understanding of technologies such as .NET, ASP, and SQL. You must also have superb communications and a willingness to help attitude. Other duties may include scoping minor product enhancements, providing input on internal processes, and assisting with various forms of documentation. A typical applicant will have worked as a web developer, application developer or web engineer.
Qualifications: 4 year degree in Computer Science or directly related degree 2 to 6 years experience in the computer programming industry Software development, particularly web-based products experience preferred Experience designing and/or coding product and/or computer applications Exceptional understanding of the following technologies: VBScript, JavaScript, VB 6.0 or later, Microsoft SQL and analytical services, email services, ASP.NET, Microsoft Windows, and MS Project Experience with MS Office suite of products such as M! S Excel, MS Word, and MS Access Stellar written, verbal, and i! nterpersonal communication skills Ability to manage multiple time-critical projects Ability to work effectively in teams and most importantly, work in a virtual environment Ability to travel, both domestically and internationally Our office in Cary, N.C. will be the primary location for daily responsibilities
Responsibilities: Web page design and programming Database design and programming Functional quality assurance for own work and the work of peers Troubleshooting difficult coding problems related to design, infrastructure, or data Supporting policies and procedures related to design and coding standards as well as care for source code Recommends enhancements to policies and procedures to streamline designs and business processes May be required to focus on programming tasks related to corporate applications or products Familiar with a variety of technology related concepts, practices, and procedures A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected in the! area of design and coding
