Mandatory Requirements:
Associates degree an! d three years professional work experience providing report development and BI analysis in a MS SQL Server environment; or a four-year degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems Business Administration, Earth Science, Geography, or related field, and one year of professional work experience providing report development and BI analysis in a MS SQL Server environment.
Significant understanding of the use of structured query language or other like method to troubleshoot problems and create reports.
Demonstrated ability to identify and document business requirements related to reporting and Business Intelligence (BI)
Experience in providing direct application support, training and mentoring
Knowledge of project management methodologies and ability to adapt these methodologies within City guidelines and best appropriate practices.
Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Demonstrated ability to work in! a team environment.
Proficient in the use of the Mic! rosoft Office application suite.
Basic understanding of structured application testing methodologies.
Moderate problem resolution skills (analysis, solution design, action planning)
Desirable Experience:
Understanding of Water/Wastewater Utilities and Facility Management work management practices
Experience developing complex business reports and charts
Experience analyzing and documenting business processes.
Experience in the creation and maintenance of application related training materials.
Experience providing user application training and mentoring.
Job Description:
The WAM Business Analyst role will provide the following categories of services for each assigned application. The specific services provided include:
Custom report development
Business Intelligence information request analysis
Frontline user and application support
Problem resol! ution management
User training and mentoring
New feature implementation
Stakeholder Change Management
Development and implementation of Advanced Asset Management practices
Duties:
Provides ongoing leadership in advancing the use and functionality of the Azteca Cityworks and associated applications to meet the needs of stakeholders. Acts as a consultative resource for WAM reporting and Business Intelligence (BI) requests from Utilities staff and management.
Maintains an advanced understanding of the functionality and technical configuration of the assigned applications and proactively works with application stakeholders to apply this functionality to meet the needs of the Department.
Defines and documents business processes related to reporting and BI to achieve use consistency for each assigned application.
Provides assistance with the analysis and documentation of business process gaps relat! ed to the use of each assigned application.
Works with Utiliti! es and City management to devise or modify business processes to solve complex business problems associated with the use of each assigned application.
With Program Manager, coordinates and manages all defect corrections and upgrades for each assigned application.
Works with stakeholders to structure and maintain the configuration of each assigned application in a manner that meets the ongoing needs of their respective businesses.
Supports the maintenance of functional (how-to-use) and technical documentation for each assigned application.
Contributes to basic training curriculum for each assigned application, specifically in the areas of user generated reporting.
Serves as a focal point for information or requests from each assigned application. Creates reports using SQL, Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services, or other like tool.
Provides front-line functional support for each assigned application as required.
