THE ROLE YOU WILL PLAY:
The Supplier Quality Specialist will work with the Procurement Department in the implementation of the Supplier Quality Pr! ogram. The Supplier Quality Specialist is responsible for:
The tactical and systematic management of supplier quality assurance and development
Driving improvement in supplier performance and provide leadership in managing supplier related issues
Responsible for the development of processes and procedures that improve supply base performance and raise the level of the supply base.
This individual will work with QA to ensure material rejections are addressed and the proper corrective and preventive action put in place.
Monitor and report on supplier performance and make recommendations to the Strategic Sourcing Team regarding awarding of new business to suppliers.
Responsibilities will also include conducting quality and process. Results of the audits will be reported back to the site plant management team with recommendations for improvement.
Will work in a cross functional approach to implement recommended improvements in support of Manufacturing operations as well as KAI! ZEN events.
Will support the Division Systems Quality Manager in conducting internal audits of the QMS. Will also be responsible for ensuring that work is done within the framework our commitment to ISO9000, Lean sigma, and the companyâs Code of Conduct
Will work in executing an effective supplier evaluation and improvement process.
Responsible for establishing, maintaining and improving the supplier quality assurance and development system in their respective commodity.
Perform audits on new and existing suppliers with the purpose of evaluating the expected quality performance of the supplier, and provide relevant information into supplier selection to the Strategic Sourcing Team
Support in the supplierâs corrective action process and approve the result for company related issues that have gone through the process.

BACKGROUND PROFILE:
Associateâs Degree required and a minimum four years of related experience.
5-10 years in an industrial manufacturing environment (automotive, heavy duty, or custom build preferred)
2-3 years Quality Engineering experience.
Must have strong knowledge of GD&T, use of measurement tools, MSA, APQP, PPAP, FAI, Root Cause Analysis, QC tools, and ISO9001 / TS! 16949.
Must have strong auditing skills
Must have exposure to lean manufacturing concepts.
Must be willing and able to travel up to 25%
Ability to read, analyze, communicate, and interpret technical data
Ability to write in a clear and concise manner
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions
Ability to communicate manufacturing process requirements
Computer skills â" use of MS Office essential
Mathematical skills â" Understanding of 6 sigma calculations
Statistical Analysis â" SPC, Xbar R, XMR charting
Ability to effectively plan and organize
Conduct root cause analysis
Address and implement corrective and preventive actions.
Strong presentation skills
Strong judgment skills â" must be able to make decisions with little guidance.
Preferred Background
Six Sigma Greenbelt preferred.
CQE ! / CQA certified
3 years Supplier Quality experience highly des! ired.
Implementing ISO14000 Environmental Management Systems
Prefer candidates with experience in heavy equipment manufacturing
