The Charlotte Dept. of Transportation is seeking a motivated candidate to fill a Traffic Electronics Technician I position.
The ideal candida! te for this position will possess a strong background in troubleshooting electrical and electronic problems. Computer experience, strong communication skills, and working in a team environment are essential for success in this position.
Key Responsibilities:
Install, maintain, and repair traffic signal controllers and conflict monitors.
Maintain a network of traffic management and detection cameras.
Troubleshoot signalized intersections for problems.
Perform repairs in the field as needed.
Locate, identify, and mark CDOT copper or fiber optic cable
Ensure compliance with NC (811) One-call Center
Read signal plans
Work safely with live 120 volt circuits;
Be available in a 24-hour “on-call†rotation (approximately every 2 months).
Work as needed during emergencies.
Perform related work as required.
Minimum Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent
Ability to acquire and maintain a Ci! ty Driving Permit
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working with live 120-240 volt electrical circuits and electrical wiring.
IMSA Level II Certification or ability to obtain Certification
Strong Computer Skills, knowledge of traffic signal equipment, fiber and copper communications, and the locating of underground cables.
Salary Range:
$41,000 - $48,000 negotiable, depending on qualifications.
