Clemson University! is a comprehensive and selective public University with over 19,000 students located in the foothills of South Carolina and is surrounded by lakes, near the Greenville metropolitan area. The Department of Languages is housed in a college that combines Humanities, Design and Building, and the Fine and Performing Arts. It currently offers three distinct degree programs: a B.A. in Modern Languages (ASL, Chinese, French, German, Italian, Japanese, and Spanish); a B.A. in Language and International Trade (Chinese, French, German, Japanese, and Spanish); and a B.S. in Language and International Health (Chinese and Spanish).
We are seeking a senior scholar with a strong record of publication and teaching with credentials meriting tenure. A rank of Full Professor is preferred, although a very experienced administrator and scholar at the Associate Professor level may be considered. Preference will be given to proven leaders with successful administrative experience, wide i! nterdisciplinary interests, and an active research program.
