Coastal Carolina University seeks applications for the following full time, 10.5 month position: Physician's Assistant in the Department of Student Health Services
! Duties include but are not limited to: serving as a clinical medical care provider for students in the University community, this position will provide health care for individuals including health education in accordance with statutes, regulations and protocols regulating the profession. Provides acute health care to students; performs medical assessments; obtains medical histories; performs physical examinations; maintains confidentiality of student records and health information; promotes disease prevention; manages medical care for some stable chronic illnesses; provides patients with information regarding procedures, medicines, risks, or benefits that may be involved in treatments; manages medical compliance to include OSHA regulations, credentialing, nursing competencies, and quality assurance.
Bachelor's degree in a science or health related field, a diploma from an accredited Physician's Assistant Program, and a minimum of five (5) years of clinical ! experience are required. Position also requires certification ! by the National Commission of Certification of Physician's Assistants (NCCPA) and licensure by the SC Board of Medical Examiners. Additionally, a successful candidate will have: extensive knowledge of physical assessment, differential diagnosis, pathophysiology, pharmacology and management of acute chronic patient issues; strong gynecology skills; substantial interpersonal skills necessary to educate students and collaborate with other health care providers; ability to develop and implement programs for the Student Health Center; and ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with faculty, staff, students and the general public.

Physician's Assistant. Full-time position with benefits (EB35). State Pay Band: 07. Position will be subject to normal work hours for the University. Some evening, weekend, and on call responsibilities may be required. Position is a 10.5 month position.
