Job entails some overnight travel ! and must be available to perform Catastrophe - CAT duty. This position will be based out of our Charlotte, NC Office.
Job Requirements
- Minimum of 2-3 years of progressive 1st party personal line property claims experience as a claim representative which includes at least two years as a Property Claims representative or the equivalent in related work experience.
- Investigates, processes, and settles first party claims requiring a high level of technical expertise that involves large amounts of damage and/or questions of coverage.
- This position requires strenuous physical activity such as climbing roofs, transporting ladders, inspecting crawlspaces and attics.
- Education equivalent to a college degree or the equivalent in related work experience with solid PC and keyboarding skills.
- Strong experience utilizing estimating software such as Xactimate is a plus.
- High! ly skilled at using required property equipment to include mea! suring devices, digital cameras, ladders, etc.
- Must have the skills of proper claims documentation and handling; strong insurance policy and coverage knowledge, ability to handle complex property claims.
- Must be able to provide guidance to other personnel on investigations, appraisals of damages, liability, coverages and settlement techniques.
- Assists with training of claims representatives and performs special projects as assigned.
- Must have a valid driving license.
- Demonstrated interpersonal skills, customer service skills, communication skills (both orally and written).
- Strong investigative, analytical, problem solving, planning and organization and time management skills.
- Must be able to manage time effectively and work independently to achieve claims objectives.
- Must also be able to effectively work with team members.
- Must be flexible and able to adapt to changing situations and needs.
- Must possess or attain state adjusting licenses as required with 90 days of hire.
- This position requires external field property inspections with up to 80 days of overnight travel within continental US per year.
- The individual must be flexible and willing to work additional hours when needed to handle claims volume.
