Responsibilities
Currently, we seek a Specialist, Training/Patient Service.
Basic Purpose
: Under the direction of the Patient Services Manager, provides technical and non-technical training to all Patient Services staff; writes and updates procedures; performs site visitations and process analysis; administers staff competency testing, conducts in-services and meetings; conducts interviews and interacts with Patient Services management and staff. May perform other related tasks as assigned.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Provides technical and non-technical trainings. Computer functions. Office management. Specimen collection. Specimen processing. Customer service. Forensic urine collections. Quality control. Quality assuran! ce. Patient Service Center Operation. Billing. Compliance (as ! required)l. Safety 1. TB 2. Venipuncture 3. Post incident
2. Writes and updates procedures and training material. Assists in the maintaining of all procedure manuals. Writes new procedures as directed . Implements roll out and required training of new procedures. Develops training material for customized training (Customer service, retraining, etc.) e. Develops training material for new hire training module.
3. Performs site visitations and process analysis. Conducts site visits to verify adherence to compliance, safety and other procedures. Observes processes for efficient work and patient flows. Submits recommendations for process improvements. Assists in implementing process improvements.
4. Administers staff competency testing. Develops and administers competency testing 1. Specimen collection 2. Pre-Analytical testing 3. Forensic collections .
5. Conducts Interviews. Performs telephone screening. Schedules and conducts initial interv! iew. Assesses Phlebotomy skills. Makes recommendations to Field Operations Management .
Job Requirements:
Language skills:
1. Ability to read and write reports and correspondence.
2. Ability to speak effectively and present material to be understood by a diverse group of individuals.
3. Familiarity with medical terminology
Reasoning ability:
1. Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form.
2. Ability to troubleshoot problems and provide solutions.
Other skills and abilities:
1. Ability to work independently, develop training materials and participate in team oriented projects.
2. Knowledge of computer applications (word processing, database and spreadsheet programs)
Education Required:
1. Associates degree or graduation from an accredited Phlebotomy or related program.
2. Pr! ofessional certification preferred
Additional Certification! :
1. Quest Diagnostics forensic collector
Work Experience: Three to five years of Phlebotomy and supervisory experience.
Physical Requirements:
1. Ability to stand and sit for extended periods of time.
2. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use their hands to fell objects; reach with hands and arms; and talk and hear. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, and crouch.
3. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
4. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close and color vision.
5. The employee is regularly required to drive.

Other Information
Position can be based in Huntsville or Birmingham, but requires
frequent travel.
Other Information
Mon-Fri with travel on weekends as needed. Position primarily covers the Eastern NC territory. Overnight travel required.
