Location: Chapel Hill North Carolina

Description: Ipas is employing Associate, Information Technology right now, this vacancy will be placed in North Carolina. The Associate, Information Technology assists the unit with IT logistics, ordering, procurement and basic hardware troubleshooting and maintenance. The Associate must be familiar wi! th helpdesk ticketing software and respond to basic hardware and software troubleshooting in a customer-focused manner. The Associate prepares purchase orders, payment requests and other paperwork for
the unit. The I.T. Associate supports staff in our Chapel Hill headquarters as well as our international field offices. Overseas travel of up to 10% may be requested for global support activities.

Responsibilities:
LOGISTICS : In coordination with the IT Manager, solicits quotes for equipment, prepares purchase orders and payment requests. Maintains contact with vendors and suppliers and acts as point of contact for changes to those relationships. Arranges for repairs, warranty service and RMA when necessary for all computers and peripherals. Maintains lists of hardware and serial numbers and tracks changes to hardware.
HARDWARE SUPPORT: Responsible for unpacking, assembling, troubleshooting and deploying new desktops and laptops for a! global organization. Expected to occasionally move equipment ! weighing up to 50 lbs. Responds to helpdesk calls for hardware break/fix and troubleshooting. Maintains the functionality of the communal conference room equipment. Responsible for maintaining IT loaner equipment.
SOFTWARE SUPPORT: Must be familiar with building and supporting Windows 7 and Windows 8 workstations. Experience in OS image creation and deployment, using Ghost and MS System Center is a must. Software support includes basic troubleshooting of MS Sharepoint, MS Exchange/Outlook, MS CRM, MS Office 2010/2013, MS Server 2008 and MS Lync.
HELPDESK: Prior experience with helpdesk ticketing software is required. Monitors the helpdesk ticket queue and resolves tier I tickets pertaining to IT service requests, hardware and software troubleshooting and other areas as assigned. Works with end users to resolve issues in a timely and customer-focused manner.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in related! area.
  • Technical knowledge of and experience with PCs and PC troublshooting
  • Competent understanding of wired and wireless network technology
  • Good interpersonal and phone skills
  • Good organizational skills
  • Helpdesk experience useful
