Under general direction, performs preventive maintenance inspections on mechanical, electrical and automatic temperature control equipment to ensure continuing operation.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES:
Identifies and lists replacement, repair and/or recalibration action required by service mechanics.

Performs logging operations using basic mechanical an! d electrical test equipment to obtain data.

Performs basic test and balance procedures including, the measurement of flow, pressure temperature, pumps, fans and heat exchanges. Reports collected data.

Performs coil cleaning using special spray equipment and chemicals.

Inspects mechanical equipment such as cooling towers, cooling units and filters.

Performs routine tasks such as cleaning and oiling cooling units, cleaning coils in cooling towers, changing belts and lubricating equipment.

Monitors equipment operations through walking tours. Reports any alarms representing failure of systems.

Performs low voltage wiring tasks (e.g. installation of door switches, nurse call stations) and performs regular maintenance checks. Pulls cable and wire according to specifications.

OTHER DUTIES:
May perform service calls equipment unrelated to HVAC, Controls, or PTC (e.g. restaurant equipment)

Performs ot! her duties as assigned.

Qualifications

At least two y! ears experience as a Service HVAC Specialist I or graduation from a one year technical program. Mechanical and electrical aptitude with basic HVAC equipment knowledge.
