This position is located on 3rd shift
The primary purpose of this position is to provide management leadership and supervision to licensed and unlicensed staff on a residential unit serving approximately 35 individuals with Intellectual Developmental Disabilities and/or specialized dementia who exhibit combative and aggressive behaviors. This position has responsibility for the overall daily operations/nursing support of the residential unit per assigned shift. This position is accountable for ensuring the efficient and effective delivery of quality nursing care/support to the individuals residing on the unit. Position serves as a member of the Senior staff Committee and as a Senior Administrative Officer, consisting of being on-call on a regular rotational basis. Position is considered mandatory, requiring individual to be available to report to working during adverse/emergency conditions. Position will be accountable for the overall daily supervision and management of both Professional Nurses and Health Care Technician staff on the unit. Duties will include: interviewing, selection, evaluation of the Performance Management System, disciplinary process, etc.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities / Competencies
Knowledge of the principles and practices of professional nursing, in adherence with the NC Board of Nursing Licensure.
Experience in the supervision of licensed and unlicensed staff.
Knowledge in the operation of a 24/7 nursing/residential program.
Knowledge of both OBRA/CMS Regulations.
PREFERENCES: Able to work with multiple tasks and maintain organization while doing so. Also, applicant needs to have excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of North Carolina and two years of experience in the area of specialization. . . . . .
