On behalf of North Carolina’s Division of Medical Assistance, Liberty Healthcare conducts assessments and needs-based eligibility determinations for all North Carolinians who are applying for Medicaid-funded personal care services. Each year, Liberty Healthcare conducts approximately fifty-five thousand home visits and assessments throughout North Carolina.
Liberty Healthcare seeks a Registered Nurse for an available full-time “Independent Assessor†position. This is a field-based position which allows for some work from home and also requires re gular daily travel to client homes throughout Pitt County and Wilson County.
As an Independent Assessor with Liberty Healthcare, you would assess clients to help determine their eligibility for Medicaid-funded personal care services. This role is limited to conducing nursing assessments and does not involve direct patient care. Specific responsibilities will include:
- Traveling throughout the local region
- Visiting clients in their homes
- Assessing client’s activities of daily living and evaluating client’s home environment
- Completing electronic reports related to client’s health status, diagnoses, medications and other pertinent factors
As an Independent Assessor and full-time employee of Liberty Healthcare you can expect:
- Annual salary of $60,000
- Monday through Friday work schedule
- Mileage reimbursement

Well-qualified candidates will possess the following attributes:
- Registered Nurse license in North Carolina
- Prior experience in home health, hospice or similar field-based nursing area
- Ability to effectively use a laptop and other remote office technology
- Willingness to travel throughout the region and possess a vehicle in good working order
- Reside in Pitt County or Wilson County
