We are currently seeking TWO dedicated and efficient Hotel Services Assistants to join our Hotel Services team.
POSITION: Hotel Services Assistant x 2
GRADE: Hospital Assistant Grade 2
HOURS: Casual
OPERATIONAL BASE: Carramar and Campbelltown Hospital (must be willing to travel)
RESPONSIBLE TO: Hotel Services Coordinator through to Corporate Services Manager

PURPOSE
The Hospital Assistant will contribute to the effectiveness of the services by providing effective and efficient Hotel Services to the organisation.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible for providing courteous and professional meal and beverage services to all clients.
- Responsible for cleaning and catering within Karitane facilities (Carramar / Campbelltown and other Karitane sites as required).Ensure the cleanliness of all work surfaces and equipment adhering to cleaning guidelines and HACCP principles.
- Carry out cleaning duties as directed by supervisor and adhere to rotating cleaning schedules.
- To immediately report to supervisor and/or department managers any unsafe equipment or environmental risk
- To attend and participate in staff meetings and WHS forums
- Perform all duties in a professional manner within allocated timeframes
- Undertake other duties as directed
KEY SELECTION CRITERIA: (please address each selection criteria in your application)
- Experience in commercial cleaning and food service.
- Demonstrated knowledge of food handling / preparation and food hygiene procedures including HACCAP.
- Experience and ability to work unsupervised.
- Ability to work as part of a team.
- Ability to read and communicate effectively in English (oral and written) with staff and clients
- Possess a high standard of customer service skills
- Ability to work a variety of shifts or sites.
- Current Divers License and reliable car
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
Casual - Hospital Assistant Grade 2 - status in accordance with the Named NSW (Non Declared) Affiliated Health Organisations’ Health Employees Agreement.
Shift times and days may be varied according to the needs of the organisation. Karitane services are provided at a number of sites within the Sydney Metropolitan Area.
The majority of Karitane’s services close for approximately two weeks over the Christmas/New Year period, during which time employees are required to take leave.

Relevant Criminal History, Apprehended Violence Order, Working with Children and prior employment checks, including relevant disciplinary proceedings, will be conducted on recommended applicants.
WHERE YOU WILL BE WORKING
Karitane is expanding services across South West Sydney Local Health District and therefore, the successful applicant must be willing to travel to various Karitane sites as required.
Your primary location will be Carramar until the new site at Campbelltown Hospital is complete, which is expected to be mid-2023.
Once the new site at Campbelltown is complete, you will be co-located at both Carramar and Campbelltown.
