Research and resolve complex cases, system maintenance, and/or output problems. Respond to the most complex inquiries from internal and external customers. Review, analyze and approve DTC life and H&A applications including risk selection and telephone interviews. Coordinate preprint functions including quoting, file preparation and output, scheduling, workflow coordination, tracking and post-print cost recovery.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

  • Review and verify the accuracy of computer generated status reports. Research and resolve complex cases, including highly
    confidential and sensitive material, system maintenance, development of job quotations for in-house printing requests, or output problems working with IS and other Home Office departments as appropriate. Access various document management systems to identify correspondence and refer via the image process. Respond to the most complex inquiries or requests for services from internal and external customers including negotiating timeframes, scheduling and tracking jobs, producing digital pre-press output, and maintaining a cost recovery process using the print management system. May coordinate the walk-up electronic print workflow.
  • Analyze and complete complex new business entry for multiple lines of business. Review and analyze new DTC applications for both H&A and Life business. Assist in processing applications that qualify for "hot" (allows for immediate issue) or "fast" (involves more detailed review of applications) issue. Verify insurable interest of beneficiary, eligibility for extended insurance and recognize health impairments.
  • Receive incoming calls and make outgoing calls to policyholders, hospitals, and physicians regarding requests for information including policy numbers, tax ID numbers, claims paying offices, addresses, and telephone numbers. Research system records to direct callers appropriately, updating various tracking systems as appropriate, and/or initiate appropriate follow-up actions. Make phone contacts to conduct extensive investigations with various sources regarding new business underwriting information for specialized lines of high liability insurance applications or questionable applications. Receive incoming calls and provide customer service by placing orders, answering questions, and problem solving.
  • Analyze life, health and cancer risk of applicants using the Underwriting Manual for guidance and check claim histories, reject codes, in-force policies and riders to further define the risk of issuing the coverage. If adequate information is not available, determine if form, letter, or a phone call is necessary. Conduct and document underwriting telephone interviews to collect comprehensive medical records and other risk selection information.
  • Authorize and enter record changes for cancellations, rescissions, overpayments, refunds and agent changes, and reissue policies that were issued incorrectly. Respond on timely basis to a large volume of correspondence involving direct marketing business to answer questions and resolve problems.
  • Access various databases and websites to set up new life insurance applications and provide information to underwriting.
  • Enters and maintains information on either a database or other software application. Completes various data entries, reports, and information for new life insurance applications.
  • Analyzes, receives, reviews, and verifies the accurace & completeness of information submitted for new life insurance applications for coverage.

VALUABLE EXPERIENCE:

  • Proficient completing client possibles using client maintenance (CPIS), health Oplex, and Capsil
  • Proficient handling letters and policy output preparation for rider adds, new policies, and LMF/United World duplicate policy requests
  • Must be proficient and accurate transcribing exception fields using ICR
  • Must be proficient and accurate entering and establishing client set up for Health, Med Supp and Life individual new business applications using Captiva and Capsil
  • Must be proficient and accurate indexing correspondence, receiving requirements and handling web errors for Health, Med Supp and Life individual new business applications using Captiva, Capsil, Life UI, and UWS
  • Knowledge of Company and DTC underwriting and renewal functions, medical terminology, impaired risk, new business
    procedures and the legal requirements of policy contracts for with H&A or Life DTC business.
  • Understanding of laws, state insurance regulations and Company policies concerning health and life policies and processing
    and the release of health and life policy information as well as knowledge of federal regulations regarding individuals' rights to
    privacy and consumer' rights to information.
  • Successful completion of Service Plus and medical terminology
  • Graphic Arts and pre-print knowledge and appropriate field specific Macintosh software
  • Thorough knowledge of the entire publishing process from concept to completion and internal/external print vendor
    capabilities
  • Seasoned knowledge of the print management and PeopleSoft systems
