Assistant Butcher - Sausage Maker [New Zealand]


 

General Scope of Duties:

The Sausage Maker is responsible for measuring, mixing, grinding, stuffing, slicing and smoking sausages and cured products for customer orders, while contributing to our high standards for a safe and sanitary working environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • To assist with the following: Cut, trim, bone, tie, and grind or slice meats, such as beef, pork, lamb.
  • Ensure all recipes and Zamora standards are followed to procedure.
  • Perform duties with consistency to produce the best possible product and maintain quality control standards.
  • Receive, inspect, record temperatures and store meat upon delivery.
  • To assist with the processes involved to cure, smoke, tenderize and preserve meat.
  • Prepare, pack and deliver orders for customers.
  • Assist to maintain the inventory system and agreed stock levels.
  • Coordinate with team to ensure all equipment is well-maintained and in safe, working order.
  • Report equipment issues/malfunctions.
  • Maintain a clean/sanitized work area.
  • Keep all storage cold and room temperature organized and clean.
  • Contribute to maintain a safe workspace environment.
  • Other duties as required

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: From $29.66 per hour
