Job Purpose
This role is externally focused and will support Takeda corporate Vision and Strategy as well as market access strategies strengthening, developing, and influencing external environment within the health care industry to support Takeda portfolio, while enhancing the reputation of Takeda. In this position is to design, develop and implement activities that secure optimal reimbursement and realize the maximum commercial potential of current and future Takeda products marketed in Middle East and enhance the effectiveness of the organization and further develop the reputation of Takeda as a credible patient-centric pharmaceutical organization that brings high value products to stakeholders in the region.
Principal Accountabilities
Expected End Results
Provide a business strategy:
- Has a deep understanding of the country healthcare structure to be able contribute in shaping the healthcare environment and market access process in the therapeutic areas domains where Takeda is active.
- Define the strategy for patient centricity and raising the standards of care
- Help, create and maintain a strategic market access Plan for Takeda current and new products
- Design, prepare, and lead tender relevant submissions to gain positive outcomes from institutional buying sectors
- Build relevant, solid value arguments with supporting health economic and budget impact analysis (BIA) models
- Ensure all relevant scientific / sales / and business data needed is available in a timely manner
- Assist with the development and implementation of public relations and government affairs strategy as it pertains to the market access environment
- Identifies with the team the key stakeholders and establishes relationships with key influencers and decision makers to facilitate optimal market access for new Takeda products and to maintain/optimize market access for existing Portfolio products
- Setting optimal prices strategy to ensure maximum profitability per customer segment and as per business need
- Cross functional collaboration to reach alignment in market access strategy and action plan, embed market access plan in brand planning process, provide support and insight in the brand strategy and operational plans & activities
- Develop and define strategy for obtaining and maintaining market access for product portfolio through generating payers’ insights
- Set the strategy and define the activities for patient benefits
Function demands and alignment of function with business needs:
- Lead and develop MA team capabilities to maximize the productivity of their job efficiency
- Managing relation & business with tender authorities regarding bidding & delivery in coordination with sales department.
- Tracking of tenders (prices & quantities) and reconciliation of any discounts on the level of distributors and importers
- Manage and increase the effectiveness and efficiency of “Customer Services” through cross functional coordination and communication.
- Management of all process related to the account reimbursement structure, financial flows, budget decisions and tender conditions.
- Responsible to know local laws and regulations, and the country healthcare system that influence decisions on price, reimbursement and access and that guide interactions with payers.
- Map and segment key players and Decision makers in order to anticipate their needs and tailor interactions
- Lead any commercial activities and commercial strategy for Key accounts in KSA, in coordination with marketing. Sales and Medical.
- Lead market access strategies within the LOC
- Lead and develop KAM and function
Public Affairs responsibilities:
- Implement the Public Affairs strategic plans to build Takeda image as an active participant in raising the standards of care in Middle East.
- Drive public affairs tactical initiatives to support market access for Takeda portfolio
- Represent the company’s strategic policies and guidelines, aligned with the local regulations.
- Monitor and document external changes and trends (including policy change and competitor activities). Use information to identify risks and/or opportunities and propose strategic response actions
- Contribute to Health Authorities perception of Takeda as a leader in innovative therapies and Health care support and a socially, and environmentally responsible company
- Ensure full compliance with business ethics and quality systems and procedures
Purpose and subject of interaction with internal & external customers and key contacts:
Independently and through support to colleagues, the role will seek to:
- Serve as company representative on public affairs-related issues in industry and trade associations
- Contribute effectively in external meetings, conferences and relevant Takeda meetings (local, national or regional level)
Develop and implement innovative MAPA initiatives and tools (incl. best-practice sharing to improve business across affiliate, business area and region
Key Decisions Expected
- Responsible for operating budget for designed activities by the MA team
- Managing multiple departments; and supervising the use of allocated budget by the team
Delivers business results and optimizes short- and long-term outcomes through leading the team
EDUCATION, BEHAVIOURAL COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS:
Educational Qualification:
University degree in Pharmacy or Business Marketing
Relevant Experience & Knowledge
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry
- Understanding of Market access dynamics and has proven skills in the field of managing key account relations and tender management
- Saudi national is preferable
Skills & Behavioral Competencies
- Excellent communication& presentation skills in English language (contractual clarity included)
- Proven record in building and maintaining trust relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Excellent analytical skills, Microsoft-Office Excel with certification is an advantage
- Result-oriented and able to deliver in volatile surroundings with tight deadlines and showing flexibility when dealing with unpredicted conditions while being compliant to local and corporate requirements
