We are looking for a Technical Lead for Data Movement who has vast experience in ETL domain. The Tech lead will be responsible to lead a team of 4-5 team members in India / US. ETL Batch Framework is one of the main offering of the Data Movement product. This helps to serve the immediate needs of a Data warehouse Projects across various divisional IT teams, to bring business feeds from external vendors into Asset management business. The framework provides improved time to market, since all the important ETL functions for Data ware housing project are developed in a re-usable fashion. The end developer uses this framework to cater to the Data ware housing needs of the project

Good knowledge of UNIX systems and environments
Unix Shell Scripts to create re-usable components
Autosys for scheduling job
Informatica as ETL tool
Oracle DB for storing framework metadata.
The candidate should be an expert in Unix shell scripting with the awareness of several shells like KShell, Bourne shell and Cshell. Also the candidate should have fair knowledge of Informatica workflow development or Informatica Administration. The individual should be able to provide technical leadership to the Data Movement delivery team in delivering solutions to the IT partners. Job duties include Data Movement Framework related project assignments by closely working with the Architect and engineering team and taking service requests to support Data Movement Framework in Non-Production space. Job duties also include consultation on Informatica Power center and Data Movement Framework. The successful candidate will be able to work collaboratively with development, Architecture, System Analysis and team members based in U.S.
Understand and review the backlog requirements from IT partners / System Analyst
Understand and review the Architecture / proposed solution from the Architect
Design and guide the development to team members based on the Architecture defined by Architect
Have an eye on re-usable solutions versus specific customized solution, since STS solutions are used by more than 1 division at any given point of time.
Oversight on the development practices, design review, code review of the modules churned by developers.
Participate and guide the team in unit, integration, and non-functional testing
Provide technical guidance to the offshore development team. Coach and mentor the technical team
Ensure development teams follow coding guidelines and practices, and conduct formal code reviews. Participate in defining the technical & coding standards and guidelines for the team or group
Participate in critical problem solving and advanced technical troubleshooting to assist the organization
Promote User group meeting and Adoption of new components to application teams.
Collaborate with supporting organizations effectively - like Operations team, TSO, Network team, Risk team and DBA s.
Providing day to day support for Data Movement Framework usage throughout the India-based Engineering organization
Must be self-motivated and a self-starter, able to work independently on a project from start to finish with little supervision and deliver finished product within projected times. Must be able to multi-task efficiently and adjust priorities accordingly.
Be able to break up a project into milestones & activities and report status to management.
Willing to learn and adapt to different work environments
Key Requirements:
Bachelor s degree
10+ years experience. Recent ETL development experience is a must. Must have considerable experience in ETL domain and design principles
7+ yrs experience in Shell scripting (UNIX).
Experience in any of the ETL tools Informatica / DataStage / Ab-inito
3+ yrs experience in Administration / Informatica tools / Informatica workflow development
Experience in any of the databases - SQL, PL/SQL and fair knowledge of Entity Relationship models
Autosys scheduling tool knowledge a plus.
Knowledge of Software configuration management tool.
Experience in developing shell scripts that interact with relational db or Informatica command line
Requires excellent verbal & technical writing skills to effectively communicate technical concepts and communicate processes and design to technical staff.
Familiarity with software development methodology / Agile process.
Must have experience in defining solutions and the needed architecture to enable it.
Ability to take the functional and non-functional requirements and propose a solution that will meet the business needs
Ability to analyze business problem, understand big picture and develop technical solutions.
Ability to build support among senior management and key stakeholders for proposed solutions
Should be able to provide technical leadership to the development teams in preparing the design artifacts and implementation of solutions.
Should be able to identify integration points between various design areas and should be able to track the implementation of integrations.
The candidate should be able to mentor the members of the development teams
Should be able to work on projects that cut across divisional boundaries in FIMT
Should be able to work on Proof of concepts independently
Should be a quick learner be able to adapt to new technologies in the Informatica tools
Should have excellent presentation, documentation and communication skills as well as skills to present/sell technology in business context to the stakeholders
Experience in Financial Services Industry especially in Buy side investment management is highly desirable
Primary skill sets
ETL domain knowledge, Unix shell scripting, Tech lead
Secondary skill sets
Experience in any ETL tool, Informatica Admin knowledge, Informatica workflow development experience, Exposure to any DB ( Oracle / MSSQL / SYBASE )
