Senior Director of Finance & Planning

Location: Fort Mill South Carolina

Description: Domtar is in need of Senior Director of Finance & Planning right now, this occupation will be placed in South Carolina. Detailed specification about this occupation opportunity please read the description below. Responsible for the management and coordination of the financial function in support of the full range of business activities for the entire pulp & paper segment in North America. Includes financial reporting, accounting policy and procedures, internal controls, profit planning, capital management, management information and business analysis, recruiting and development of financial staff and strategy formulation. Reports to the VP of Finance - Pulp & Paper.

• Manage Decision Support group in the Domtar Operations Headquarters in Fort Mill, SC and Finance and Planning staff at manufacturing locations.

• Critical leader in analysing current operations including decisions related to capacity reduction.

• Responsible for the compilation and review of monthly/quarterly paper and pulp variance analysis for internal and 3rd party reporting for both forecast and actual results.

• Coordination and preparation of Paper and Pulp annual strategic and operations budget including presentation to the CEO & CFO and providing presentation materials for the CFO budget presentation to the Board of Directors.

• Primary resource for internal SOX auditors and third party auditors for all business processes and quarterly business results review.

• Direct mill Finance and Planning resources in new business processes (14 paper/pulp manufacturing locations and 13 offsite converting locations).

Other responsibilities include:
•Set strategic direction for the Pulp & Paper segment along with Manufacturing & Sales Management

•Responsible for accumulation of financial data required for Management reporting and 3rd party reporting (MD&A & 10Q)

•Develop and report pulp & paper budget and forecast process

•Influence development and maintenance of standard mill & business operational procedures & reporting

•Advise and consult on multi million dollar Capital Projects/Analysis

•Setting standards on how costs are accumulated and allocated within a mill to allow for comparable costs and methods across all of the pulp & paper mills within the paper segment.

•Lead/reengineer processes changes both within the Fort Mill Finance group as well as in the mills.

•Establish measurable goals for the Finance organization

•Strong communication with all levels in the organization. Includes presenting budget materials to the CEO to working with mill accounting clerks on month-end processes. There is frequent communication and interaction with the senior leadership team within the pulp & paper manufacturing group.

•Regular interaction with external auditors (PWC) related to review and compliancy of financial results, processes and controls

Your profile:
•Requires a BS Degree (or higher) in Accounting or Finance

•Minimum of 5-10 yearsÂ' experience in a leadership role and preferably a number of years in a mill environment.

•Ability to effectively work with and communicate fiscal information with all levels of management and possess good interpersonal skills.

•Must possess effective team building and supervisor skills.

•Excellent verbal and written communication skills; must be able to make effective verbal presentations and write effective reports.

•Requires good negotiations skills.

•Requires strong analytical and problem solving skills

•Available for travel.
