Performs airframe, landing gear, electrical and propeller work as related and necessary to accomplish customersâ requirements on engine repair conducted in the process of returning to service any engine, module, accessory or part for which the Repair Station is rated, according to their ability and certification to perform such work, following all health and safety practices and requirements.

Using the ability to read and write English follows all required standards in the performance of assigned work displaying appropriate competencies in accordance with FAA Regulations, OEM manuals, and related materials.

Conduct performance/functional testing as necessary to demonstrate the itemâs ability to properly perform and records findings of any required inspection on proper forms.
May, when authorized, observe aircraft and engine operation in flight and/or run up engines on aircraft.
May perform a hidden damage evaluation during disassembly of any item delivered for maintenance where it is known or suspected that the item has experienced any over stress, such as crash or hard landing, fire, etc. An examination of damage and condition of all parts adjacent to those found damaged may also done as directed.
Perform any combination of assigned assembly, disassembly, testing, and preservation tasks conducted in the process of returning to service any engine, module, accessory or part for which the Repair Station is rated, according to their ability and certification to perform such work. Such activities may include:
Check in, stripping, cleaning or inspecting engines/components;
Build engines/products to defined standards;
Perform dimensional measurements and calculations during assembly operations;
Prepare engine/components for testing and further inspections/processes; and,
Assist in training other team members as appropriate to maintain best practices standards.
Upon completion of a specific task the incumbent will maintain notes and sign off the paperwork/records using his/her initials indicating the item is ready for handoff/turnover to other repair station personnel.
Responsible for keeping a clean and orderly work area and ensuring that FOD preventions practices are followed in their work area.
Inform and advise employees in lower rated jobs to perform specific assignments in order to accomplish repair and overhaul.
Maintain DAI image and relate in responsible manner to customer manufacturers and government reps.
Utilize electronic databases in order to retrieve information regarding aircraft parts inventory, manufacturing models, serial numbers/pertinent information to ensure correct engine documentation.
Notify supervisor regarding any discrepancies such as improper routing, blue print and diagram variances, or improper tag documentation as needed.
Flight line work to include towing and parking of aircraft using necessary ground support equipment.
Travel as required to perform repairs and engine changes at customer facilities and in the field.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
Direct /Indirect Experience:
Should have four to six (4-6) years preferred of related experience in diversified engine and aircraft operations including disassembly, cleaning, inspection rework, assembly, rectification, flight line, airframe and electrical work as related to engines on aircraft serviced by DAI.
Qualifications: (Including Licenses and Certifications)
FAA power plant license is strongly preferred, or required according to regulations and type of work.
Previous experience with PT6A/JT15D hot section and power section preferred.
Test cell and compressor balance experience is a plus.
Level of Decision Making/Problem Solving:
The employees are directly responsible to their Supervisor. All work actions are subject to progressive inspection.

Physical:
Shop Work: exerting up to (50-70) pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Work involves walking, sitting, driving or standing for brief periods of time. Near clarity of vision is required for close up engine and chart/document analysis.
Reaching: extending hands and arms in any direction.
Handling: seizing, holding, grasping, turning or otherwise working with hand(s). Fingers are involved to the extent that they are an extension of the hand, such as to turn a switch or shift gears such as picking, pinching or otherwise working primarily with fingers rather than with the whole hand or arm as in handling.
Talking: expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word to impart oral information to convey detailed spoken instruction to other workers accurately, loudly or quickly.
Hearing: perceiving the nature of sounds by ear.
Mental:
The job requires careful diligence/attention in performing duties under normal mental stresses commonly associated with detailed mechanical/technical work.

Engine shop environments, including: hoists, heavy parts, chemicals and fluids with use of precision instruments, stringent housekeeping and work area safety regulations and practices to observe and maintain.
Environment may include brief periods of elevated noise exposure due to engine testing.
May have occasional exposure to outside weather conditions.
