SUMMARY: Performs ICD-9 and CPT coding/abstracting of all inpatient and outpatient accounts generated within Piedmont Medical Center, based on medical record documentation and in accordance with established AHA and Tenet coding guidelines.

Minimum Education: High school diploma required. Formal coding education preferred.
Minimum Experience: One or more years of coding experience in an acute care setting preferred.
Required Certifications/Registrations/Licenses: CPC, CCS, RHIT or RHIA credential preferred. 5-10 years of coding experience may be considered in lieu of credential.
