Under general supervision, the Door-to-Door Sales Rep will sell all Suddenlink services to new or existing customers within assigned territory, to ensure that the goals for new customer penetration are met with the specific cause of growing the business. ILLUSTRATIVE ACCOUNTABILITIES • Acquires new customers and upgrades current customers by conducting door-to-door canvass, appointment or referral solicitation in assigned territory. • Prepares and executes customer sales application, arranging for installation date, and/or collecting and remitting revenues as prescribed. • Upgrades and improves sales presentation, knowledge of products, services and rates, as required. • Systematically reviews assigned territory to ensure all dwelling units are contacted on a prescribed and periodic basis. • Maintains required record keeping and reporting of all sales and service activities. • Acquires new or upgrades customers by solicitation by direct contact, or at special events (street-fairs, shopping malls, lobby demonstrations), as required. • Contacts customers for pending disconnects, change of service or follow-up on installations. • Attends sales meetings and training sessions, as required. • Must be able to effectively communicate in person. • Must be able to meet required sales goals and expectations. • Must maintain professional appearance. • Performs other functional area duties, as required to meet business needs
Position Requirements
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS • Ability to communicate in person, telephone or written • Near vision acuity required for use of PC, calculator and reference materials • Ability to perform repetitive motions of the hands, wrists and fingers to sort and distribute materials • Ability to use a PC, calculator, fax, and other standard office machines • Ability to sit for extended periods of time • Ability to drive a company vehicle • Ability to give public presentations • Ability to lift up to 30 pounds • Ability to walk short distances, for extended periods of time • Ability to work, including travel, outdoors in adverse weather conditions day or night QUALIFICATIONS • High school diploma; college degree preferred. • Required - 1-3 years sales experience • Possess professional verbal, written and interpersonal communication techniques • Must be willing to work in inclement weather & weekends when applicable. • Must maintain a professional appearance • Must possess a valid NC driver’s license with good driving history • Must successfully complete drug and background screenings WORK EXPERIENCE • Customer service and/or sales experience preferred • Knowledge of basic marketing and selling concepts • Knowledge of promotional campaigns WORKING CONDITIONS • Professional work culture; fast-paced; multi-tasking; customer focused environment • Ability to work outdoors in inclement weather most of the time • Ability to work in climate-controlled areas • Exposure to typical office environment • Fast-paced, multi-tasking, customer focused environment Search Firms Please read carefully: Suddenlink Communications is not accepting unsolicited assistance from search firms for this employment opportunity.
