Piper Enterprise Solutions is seeking a Network Protocol Engineer for a challenging opportunity with a growing organization in Morrisville, North Carolina (NC). The Net! work Protocol Engineer will be responsible for writing high-quality, modular and supportable code and unit tests. The Network Protocol Engineer will also be responsible for monitoring TCP/IP activity within a Web Application Server while following Data to collect information on transitions and communications within the network. Other responsibilities for the Network Protocol Engineer include gathering and analyzing processes, connections and application transactions from the web applications and database server to provide insight into the server architecture. Qualifications and Requirements for the Network Protocol Engineer include the following:
C and C++ programming skills including multiple scripting languages (shell, perl, ruby, etc)
Deep understanding of networking, protocol stacks implementation, and network troubleshooting.
Hands-on use of tools such as wireshark, tcpdump, windump
A bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a relate! d field with at least three (3) years of product experience
The following Qualification and Requirements are preferred, not required:
A Master Degree in Computer Science or a related field with at least five (5) years of product experience
Strong experience with Performance Management and / or Network Monitoring systems
Strong understanding of Network Protocols (specifically TCP/IP)
Understanding of complex, multi-tier applications and troubleshooting in those environments
Experience with virtualization technologies
Compensation: $100,000 â€" 150,000. Total compensation package will be determined by relevant work experience and recent salary history. This is a direct-hire opportunity. A successful candidate will be offered a comprehensive benefits package.
