Job Summary
The Patient Access Representative is responsible for greeting all patient! s, collecting and documenting correct demographic and billing information, an accurate cash drawer, issuing receipts, daily deposits, assist patients with scheduling/rescheduling/confirming of all appointments, and maintaining an orderly flow of patients through the reception and lobby area. Representative will be required to perform patient access activities in support of all physician practices, and multiple outpatient ancillary departments and inpatient units. Duties also include pre-certification of admissions, and special procedures with insurance companies, including eligibility. Must understand process flows and software technology required to support physician office environments, hospital inpatient and outpatient services, as appropriate. Must perform compliant order verification for all inpatient and outpatient orders through actual orders or order software.
Job Requirements
High school diploma or GED equivalent. Three years of Medical Office or ! hospital registration experience, Typing 50 words per minute m! inimum, ICD9 and/or CPT coding, knowledge of insurance, financial experience, balancing and handling large sums of money.
