- Provides product quality expertise for specific product lines as their personal area of ownership and responsibility.
- Responsible for Quality E! ngineering aspects of process development and process control for these product lines.
- Leads teams to successfully address Non-Conforming Product Reports (NCMR), CAPA and Customer Complaints (CC) including effective use of team facilitation techniques.
- Responsible to maintain positive relationships with customers and suppliers while addressing quality concerns and requirements in a timely and effective manner.
- Must have demonstrated Quality Engineering experience in a FDA-Regulated Medical Device Manufacturing environment for 5+ years.
- Must have demonstrated success with team facilitation including strong communication skills and experience using formal root cause analysis and problem solving tools.
- Must have the ability to be self-directed in achieving tangible improvements to process control and product quality within area of responsibility, and be able to plan and manage improvement pr! ojects to meet agreed-upon goals.
Leadership
- Applies measurement and metrics to product lines within area of responsibility to assess quality performance and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Trains Quality Inspectors in product function and key risk areas for defects.
- Participates in Material Review Board (MRB), providing product quality expertise for nonconforming product disposition and determining when appropriate Corrective Action is warranted.
- Maintains positive relationships with customers and suppliers while addressing quality concerns and requirements in a timely and effective manner.
- Implements Product Drawings & Specifications (as provided by customer) into Nypro Asheville’s document control system.
- Develops Process Control Limits for key measured dimensions based on Statistical Process Control (SPC) principles, and develops Quality Control Plans based ! on principles of ANSI Z1.4 including AQL requirements that are aligned with customer expectations.
- Develops Test Methods and analyzes GR&R / MSA results as provided by the in-house Metrology Lab.
- Writes Process Validation protocols, oversees their execution and writes summary reports.
- Supports transfer from process development into production through the release of controlled documentation and training of key personnel.
- Leads & facilitates teams to successfully investigate root cause and implement effective, timely and compliant solutions to NCMR, CAPA and CC in area of responsibility.
- Utilizes a variety of Systematic Root Cause Analysis (SRCA) and 8-D Problem Solving tools and techniques including Ishikawa Diagrams (fishbone), Is/Is-Not, 5 Why’s, Process Flowcharts / SIPOC to effectively investigate CAPA and CC.
- Utilizes a variety of data collection and a! nalysis tools such as Pareto charts, Control charts, check sheets, and ! histograms to investigate & verify root causes and objectively measure the effectiveness of solutions.
- Utilizes experience and expertise in other continuous improvement techniques such as Plan-Do-Check-Act (PDCA), Kaizen, DMAIC, etc. and applies these principles to improve product quality performance within area of responsibility.
