To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed! below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.
Bachelors degree in Industrial, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering from an accredited four-year college or university with 2 years related experience with a working knowledge of electromechanical and industrial manufacturing; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Possess a working knowledge of Design for Manufacturing and Assembly concepts. Familiarity with the use and care of assembly equipment. Ability to read, analyze and interpret common scientific journals, drawings and documentation, financial reports and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies or members of the business community. Ability to use MS-Office (Word, Excel, Access) and Adobe Acrobat in order to supply the company with necessary documentation, schedules and reports. Familiarity with electronic documentation practices. Ability to apply mathematic! al operations to such tasks as determination of test reliabili! ty and validity, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, sampling theory and factor analysis. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables. May be required to stand, walk and sit. Specific vision abilities required by this job include ability to adjust focus. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

Qualifications

Provide manufacturing/documentation support for all Laboratory,Analytical and Process Equipment made or purchased by IKA, primary focus on Process.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Develops documents and maintains efficient assembly procedures, including design of assembly tooling,fixtures and workstations. Reduce waste by decreasing the time units are in WIP (work! in process). Initiates engineering changes to enhance manufacturing assembly for the purpose of improving quality,efficiency and costs. Reviews the German ECNs, makes BOM changes as necessary, and handles the departmental notifications as required. Reduce manufacturing costs, and improve labor efficiency and productivity, and response time or delivery of the end product to our customer by eliminating batch processes and implementation of assembly cells and inventory control with implementation of "LEAN Manufacturing " methods. Responsible for writing and documenting assembly procedures and instructions for training and general assembly. Develops and maintains bills of materials. Enters and maintains the Item Master in the system software so component information is accurate and consistent. Responsible for material certifications, Installation and Operation Qualifications (IQ/OQ) validations. Responsible for resolving problems that occur in manufacturing. Determine the prob! lem, ie: wrong parts used, parts out of spec, assembly error, etc. Take! the necessary steps to resolve the issue. Maintain a philosophy of continual improvement to increase consistency, efficiency, and quality.
