GENERAL FUNCTION AND JOB DUTIES
Instructor Nurse Aide is a multi-campus position.
Overview of Department
The Nursing Assistant curriculum prepares individuals to work under the supervision of licensed health care professionals in performing nursing care and services for persons of all ages.
The course work emphasizes growth and development throughout the life span, personal care, vital signs, communication, nutrition, medical asepsis, therapeutic activities, accident and fire safety, household environment and equipment management; family resources and services; and employment skills.
Our graduates of this curriculum may be eligible to be listed on the North Carolina Nurse Aide registry as a Nursing Assistant I and the North Carolina Board of Nursing Registry as Nursing Assistant II. They may be employed in home health agencies, h ospitals, clinics, nursing homes, extended care facilities, and doctorâs offices.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Requirements
Associate Degree from a regionally accredited institution in Nursing, with an unencumbered license to practice in North Carolina. The applicant must have at least 2 years of work experience as a registered nurse (4000 hours). The applicant must meet at least one of the following:
a. Completion of a course in teaching adults
b. Experience in teaching adults
c. Experience in supervising nurse aides
NOTE: Licenses and/or certifications used for credentialing purposes must be kept current by the employee, unless noted otherwise.
- Bachelorâs Degree from a regionally accredited institution in Nursing
- One year teaching experience

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
Salary for this position is $41,507- $62,674. Pay grade for this position is Associate's Degree. Initial placement for new employees is customarily at entry level through 25% percentile. Contract type is Faculty/Librarian. Ability to work a flexible schedule, which may include off-shift hours, evening and weekend assignments may be required of any position. All positions are subject to budget approval.
