Short Description for Internal Candidates

As Geologist, you will be involved with your team and in close collaboration with the Mining team and Operations in all the activities related to efficient and sustainable exploitation of Carmeuse EU carbonate deposits. You will participate in the estimation of geological reserves, and in the exploration of new resources. You will assist Operations in anticipating and resolving quality issues and maximizing the utilization of our natural resources. You will collaborate with R&D and Process teams to help addressing technical challenges related to stone calcination. As a member of Carmeuse Geology Group, you will take part in Carmeuse extensive training program.

Description for Internal Candidates

Your Responsabilities :

  • You map rock types and structures inside and outside quarries;
  • You organize and follow geophysics & drilling campaigns;
  • You describe and sample cores;
  • You organize and follow testing (chemistry, rock mechanics, etc.);
  • You update & maintain samples and drilling databases;
  • You build and update 3D geological models;
  • You communicate with Mining team and participate in mine design & mine planning;
  • You calculate reserves & resources;
  • You participate in regular quarry meetings with Operations;
  • You continue your self-training (technical publications, workshops and conferences participation etc.).

Your profile :

Basic Requirements

  • Master’s degree in geology and 3+ years of relevant industry experience;
  • Hands-on experience in field geology, geological mapping, and core logging;
  • Interest in economic geology and industrial minerals;
  • Good command of spoken and written English;
  • Willing to travel in Europe up to 30% of your time;
  • Driving license.

Professional skills

  • Geological mapping and exploration methods;
  • Basic carbonate sedimentology & geochemistry;
  • Software proficiency (Microsoft 365 and equivalent);
  • Skills in specialized software (GIS, CAD, mining) and geo-statistics is a plus.

  • Strong interpersonal skills to thrive in cross-functional and multicultural teams;
  • Strong analytical thinking and ability to extract underlying trends from data;
