General Summary
This position is the first level of a four level job family. The incumbent is responsible for performing duties and responsibilities in support of the Account Services Billing & Service departments.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
With supervision, collaborate closely with internal partners to ensure complete understanding of special account handling and to proactively solve billing/service issues.
With assistance, make appropriate ! risk decisions based on the interpretation of facts including ! premium, claims, compliance, sales impact and customer relationship.
Develop personal credibility with sales force, field management, key brokers, plan administrators, and internal customers consistent with the companyâs commitment to achieving a distinct competitive advantage.
Accurately verify policyholder, plan administrator key identifiers, and ensure appropriate communication methods are utilized in support of Colonial Lifeâs commitment to privacy and safeguarding confidential information.
Develop an understanding of the enrollment/application platform, business collection process, underwriting policies, account administration and billing practices, and other operational areas.
Develop the ability to recognize DOI and compliance regulations, procedures, and consumer complaints and complete the appropriate documentation for submission to Customer Relations for handling.
With minimal supervision, process service inquiries ! from agents, plan administrators and policyholders to ensure customer expectations and service goals are met.
With supervision, identify service solutions that meet the needs of the account
Develop understanding of service capabilities available to accounts that allow for the most effective and efficient administration processes available.
Develop a thorough understanding of billing and service processes.
May perform other duties as assigned.
Billing
With assistance, manage discrepancy premium on accounts as assigned and reconcile and resolve account and policyholder level premium discrepancies to ensure compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley.
Monitor daily reports to ensure that individual, team and department service goals are met.
With supervision, analyze and research account data and make appropriate business decisions.
Assist in identifying emerging and existing trends related to accounts and age! nts.
Service
Process website requests from plan admin! istrators and agents; Establish the appropriate web membership and designated roles based on requests, to the ColonialConnect for Plan Administrator website.
With supervision, assist in identifying emerging and existing trends related to accounts and agents.
With assistance, develop an understanding of the I3 system to correctly navigate the I3 Client.
Qualifications
Job Specifications
College degree or equivalent experience.
Meets the standards for this position, as defined in the Talent Management framework.
Ability to manage and prioritize multiple responsibilities.
Flexible to the many changes in the day to day job expectations.
Customer service experience.
Strong communication skills (oral and written).
Strong PC Skills to include Excel, Word, and mainframe applications.
Strong organizational skills.
Working knowledge of Colonial billing systems, process! es, and practices including electronic premium remittance preferred.
