Description
PDS is seeking an Applications Engineer 2 for an open position in Rural Hill, NC.
In your role, you will:
Design fixt! ures for new and existing products.
Create rapid prototyping 3D parametric solid models for engine components, tooling and fixturing.
Send drawings out to be quoted and manufactured.
Create the purchase request for anything fixture related.
Make a maintenance schedule for the fixtures.
Assist with any Fixturing problems on the floor.
Maintain good contacts with the machine shops.
Develop qualified machine shops.
Develop the design of very complex hardware and software application solutions.
Guide tracking of very complex orders to ensure that equipment, cost and delivery objectives are met by responding to customers promptly.
Develop records of very complex specification costs and price estimates.
Track and maintain assets (I.e. equipment, tools, software, etc.).
Develop alternative recommendations for very complex customer specifications and/or processes to meet cust! omer needs and improve over-all productivity.
Guide i! nvestigations and analysis of very complex field problems.
Develop explanations and clarify information to enable proper interpretation and evaluation of very complex specifications, performance characteristics or other technical data.
Qualifications
As our ideal candidate, you will meet the following requirements:
BS in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Technology or equivalent.
8-10 years of Industry experience in the field Mechanical Design, Mechanical Drafting, Mechanical Drawings, Product Concept Design, Dies and Mold Design, Reverse Engineering, 3D scanning, and Mechanical Animation.
Familiarity with gas turbine components.
Experience in AutoCAD, Solidworks, CATIA, ANSYS, 3DS MAX, SolidEdge, Pro Engineer Wildfire, Inventor, UniGraphics, EPLANM, Team Center PLM
