Manager, Pledge Accounting and Human Resources

Location: Greensboro North Carolina

Responsible for managing all aspects of human resources and all financial duties of pledge accounting. Specifi! c human resources responsibilities include employee compensation and benefits administration, new employee orientation, employment regulatory compliance, policy development, and employee relations. Specific pledge accounting duties include donor communications, data management of donor pledges and payments, billing and collections of unpaid pledges, and analysis and reporting of campaign collection results.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Data Management (50%) • Responsible for data entry and processing of customer pledges and payments • Research and analyze customer accounts to ensure accurate system postings and adjustments, ensuring that designations are going to the correct agencies • Write-off of uncollectible pledge receivable balances with proper authorization from management • Correct system errors, taking into consideration impacts on the general ledger • Provide reporting needed by finance and other departments.

Human Resources and Employee! Benefits (30%)

  • Assist in managing and admin! istering employee benefit activities including implementation and administration of employee benefits and compensation • Ensure compliance with federal, state and other regulatory agencies • Orient new employees related to human resources and payroll functions • Consult with employees for benefit questions • Ensure employee handbook is maintained with current policies and procedures • Research, draft, and recommend new policies related to employee benefits • Assist managers in employee relations, corrective action plans, and other staff development activities • Work closely with outside audit firm for workers compensation annual audit • Manage third party provider for COBRA benefits • Prepare annual IRS Form 5500
Billing, Collections, and Donor Communications (20%)

  • Responsible for periodic billing of unpaid pledges • Review significant pledge balances due, determine areas of unpaid pledges to be focused on for collection and ! develop appropriate approach and level of aggressiveness in pursuing collections • Analyze and report collection results • Ensure legal compliance in resolving corporate unpaid payroll deduction pledges • Responsible for daily communication with donors regarding inquiries on their accounts, annual mailing to donors of donation acknowledgements for tax purposes, and other periodic mailings to donors regarding billing and account information
Education Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree in finance, accounting or business
Human Resources certification preferred

Experience Requirements: Experience with all aspects of human resources
Experience in broad aspects of financial accounting, with concentration in data management, billing and/or collections
Minimum five years related work experience strong computer systems
PC Skills â€" Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word
